Japanese brand Studio D’Artisan is one of the patriarchs of classic Japanese denim, having been a member of the famous Osaka 5 association. Without such old members of the denim industry, it is unlikely that the phenomenon of Japanese denim, which has continued to delight longtime fans and attract new followers for decades, would be as interesting as it is now. The most basic and well-known series of SDA jeans is the SD-100 series, which includes several models of jeans. This series uses denim with an average density of 15OZ, woven on an old shuttle loom, which the manufacturer obtained through much trial and error.
For such denim is characterized by a relatively tight weave of threads, which avoids significant stretching of the fabric. A relatively even texture with a beautiful fluffiness. Very dark and rich indigo color, which initially may seem almost black. Blue selvedge ID thread is used.
It is this deep coloring of the threads that allows for a very contrasting and beautiful fading.
At the moment, the manufacturer has decided to slightly update the styles and details of the 100 SDA series. The essence of this update is a slightly higher fit of the jeans on the waist, which makes the style more comfortable. Thus the model will have a familiar and recognizable style, but will become more ergonomic. Also, an additional button is added for convenience, which is a logical decision. As an example, we give one of the most popular models of jeans of this series, SD-108. The old version of this model uses 4 buttons, the new version uses 5 buttons because the waist fit height of these jeans has become higher.

You can always check the front rise by simply looking at the jeans size chart and compare the old and new version of each available model. Please note that Denimio has separated the old and new versions of the jeans in this product line to avoid confusion. This is the newest model of Studio D’Artisan and this style was immediately made the way the manufacturer would like to see these jeans now. There is no old version of this model. It is a classic straight cut with a very slight taper in the pant leg. If you like such jeans models as Samurai 710, Oni 246, FOB Factory 151, then you should probably like the cut of the SD-100 model.
